East Bay Regional Park District offered a soft opening of the new Big Break Regional Shoreline Park's Big Break Visitor Center on the Delta building. The event occurred on June 6, 2012 and offered a sneak peak into the building that will host future Delta Science Center events. Here are some pictures of the event.

The building is 5,000 square feet and features a conference area (pictured below through the glass doors), a large display area (now featuring large poster displays, but eventually will feature cases with Delta displays enclosed), a classroom area for science learning (tables, chairs and sink area pictured below) and the whole front of the building is windowed with a view of the Delta and the natural environment.

The East Bay Regional Park District hopes to open the new building in September 2012 when inside displays are finally complete. Once completed the Delta Science Center hopes to develop a regular schedule of elementary learning activities at the park to add to the already existing classroom program.
